Best Long Range Electric Scooters: Fast Charging, 25-80 Miles, 15-50 mph

Electric scooters are great.

They can help you cover a few miles to the office or take a stroll around the city when you are bored.

But if you want to go on long rides and explore the various places in your city, an average scooter won’t be enough.

Those who don’t want the headache of charging their scooters every day can also benefit from a long range electric scooter.

In this guide, we have handpicked the best long range electric scooters in the market. We tested dozens of scooters to arrive at this list. After ranking their performance on various parameters, we bring you this exhaustive guide on the best long range electric scooters.

But before you see our top picks, there is something you should know.

What to Look For in Long Range Scooters

Power – The first thing that matters is power. You don’t want to drive a scooter for 50 miles at just 5 miles per hour. So look for a scooter with enough power.

Weight – Long range electric scooters tend to come with a heavy battery. This adds to the total weight of the scooter. Make sure you are comfortable with the weight of the scooter. The Mi 365 Pro weighs the lightest on our list at 31.3 lbs. Nanrobot D4+ is the heaviest at 77 lbs of weight.

Battery – You need to check several things about the battery. Does it drain fast? Does it have a decent charging time? Long range scooters have batteries that require long charging time. That is why some electric scooters come with dual charging ports, so you can plug in two chargers at the same time to cut the charging time in half.

Speed – You want to go far with your electric scooter, but you sure don’t want to ride slow. So look for how fast the scooter is. Based on your needs, you can select high torque scooters that accelerate fast and have a powerful motor to propel them to high top speeds.

Suspension and Tires – Performance matters, but so does comfort. Check if the scooter has suspension or shockers on either wheel. Scooters in this guide come with one to six set of shockers. On top of that, large pneumatic (air-filled) tires also absorb bumps on uneven roads. So select a scooter keeping these two features in mind.

Waterproof – When you drive long range, you need to be prepared for a change in weather. Many scooters come with IP6 ot IP7 rating that makes them fit to ride in the rain.

Locking System – Long range electric scooters don’t come cheap. So it is essential that the scooter has a proper security mechanism to protect against theft. Look for locking options such as key fob, key ignition, locking via smartphone app or a spot for u-lock.

1. QIEWA Q1Hummer 800Watts 68 miles

If you want an adult electric scooter for thrilling rides and high performance, the Qiewa Q1 Hummer is a serious contender. First, it has an astonishingly good range of 68 miles. That is like traveling from New York to New Jersey, all on an electric scooter.

It is packed with high-end features due to which it is on the top of our list.

With 800-watts of power, the Q1 hummer will always keep you going. No matter whether you ride on long commutes or short ones, plain roads or hills — the Q1 can take anything you throw at it. It can climb up to 35 degrees of incline like a cakewalk.

This electric scooter is built for speed. The 800-watt motor propels it to a top speed of 37 miles per hour. That is almost what the Nanrobot D4+ achieves with two 1000-watt motors under the hood. However, don’t try to zip through these fast speeds in crowded streets or you will pose danger for others and yourself.

It not only has an amazing top speed but also a high acceleration because of its high torque. It is IP65 waterproof, so it can protect itself against splashes but can’t be submerged in water. It can accommodate a massive 550 lbs without any hassles.

It has shock absorbers on both wheels which make your ride as smooth as possible. The LCD display on the handlebar is also sporty unlike many outdated displays we saw on other scooters. It has big 10” pneumatic tires for better shock absorption. Moreover, the disc brakes on both wheels make it safe to ride with ample stopping power.

With so much power, the scooter is supposed to be heavy. But the Q1 hummer is still lighter than many other heavyweights in its segment. It weighs 55 lbs. which is heavy but you can fold the scooter in just two seconds. Just pull the release lever and lock the handlebar in place near the rear wheel. Our favorite feature is the anti-theft key fob which guarantees its security.

  • Long charging time: 10-12 hours
  • No spot for a U-lock
  • No back handle to lift the rear
  • Quite heavy
  • Instruction manual has poor English

2. NANROBOT D4+ 2.0 Electric Scooter 45 miles

Nanrobot D4+ electric scooter is a monster of an electric scooter. It is certainly not for the faint of heart with 2000-watt of raw power packed inside. It has not one, but two motors with 1000 watts of power each. This aggressive combination makes it capable of reaching a top speed of 40 miles per hour. With so much power, the Nanrobot D4+ exceeded our expectations even on uphill climb.

The 23Ah battery allows for a maximum range of 45 miles on the D4+. Having such a massive battery certainly adds to its weight. The Nanrobot D4+ weighs a staggering 77 lbs. The battery charging time is 10 to 12 hours, but with so much range, you won’t need to charge it frequently. The company has however provided two charging ports to cut the charging time in half.

There is a quick release lever so that you can fold the scooter in a couple seconds. However, at 77 lbs of weight, it is meant to stored straight away – you can’t carry it with you.

The company has done a great job at making this mean machine as user friendly as possible. The handlebar is height adjustable, which is a rare feature in electric scooters. Add to that five shock absorbers to smoothen out your rides and you have the perfect balance of performance and comfort. It even has large 10-inch pneumatic tires that absorb shocks and bumps to give you a pleasant ride.

Despite it being a high-end scooter, there is no key fob that comes with the scooter. You can use a U-lock between the handlebar stem and the electric cords. The only way to steal it would be to cut the cords, which would render the scooter useless. With such an impressive list of features, we would have liked a key fob with the D4+.

It also has an LCD display to show important ride stats. It has a key ignition, which is good for the safety of the scooter as well. Beside the display is the trigger throttle and voltage meter. The display shows several stats such as power level used (one to three), battery life, tripometer, odometer, ride time and more.

As far as braking goes, the D4+ has ABS or anti-lock braking system unit installed. It also has disc brakes on both rear and front wheels. Our tests revealed that the ABS unit is set to the “high” setting by default, which is too sensitive and even dangerous. We recommend that you set it to “off” or “low” for safe braking. You can check detailed specifications of D4+ on Nanrobot’s official site.

3. Segway Ninebot MAX Electric Kick Scooter 40.4 miles

Segway Ninebot Max has enough range to make it to the top three spots on our list. With a massive 551 Wh battery, it can go up to a distance of 40.4 miles on full charge. Add to it a decent charging time of just 6 hours and you have the perfect electric scooter for long range. Despite such a massive battery, it isn’t big or bulky like the M365 Pro.

The battery is not just massive, it is also smart. Built with smart protection, the software inside makes regular checks for short circuit protection, two-way charging and discharging protection, overcurrent protection, and temperature protection.

What really stands out on the Ninebot Max though is its built-in charger. Imagine not having to drag a heavy brick with you, that is the relief the Max has to offer. To charge this scooter, you need to take out the cord from the deck and plug in for 3A fast charging.

With a nominal power of 350-watt and max power of 800-watt, the engine can go as fast as 18.6 mph. Of course the range and speed depends on the weight and type of terrain. However, the scooter can carry up to 220 lbs of weight. It can ride uphill up to a 15 degree incline angle. The scooter doesn’t look bulky, but the battery certainly adds to its weight. It weighs 41.2 lbs which isn’t easy to carry unless you’re built like a lumberjack.

The scooter is easy to fold and compact enough to be stored under your desk, in your trunk or in a small space at your home. The Ninebot Max is basically a better version of the M365 basic version. So it gives a tough competition to the M365 pro as well.

The handlebar has a stylish LED display to show important ride statistics such as current speed, remaining battery life and speed mode. It also allows you to connect the scooter to a smartphone app. It comes with not 8-inch, not even 8.5-inch but large, 10-inch pneumatic tires to make your rides comfortable and free from bumps. The handlebar has a switch which you can use to turn the 2.5 watt LED headlight on or off.

The braking system is strong on this beast. It has a front drum brake and a rear electronic regenerative brake. Regenerative brakes save on battery power and provide a short braking distance.

  • Long 40.4 mile range
  • Smart battery management and protection
  • Built-in charger takes portability to another level
  • Powerful road grip
  • IP7 water protection on core parts
  • 15 degree uphill climb angle
  • Riding data on LED display and smartphone app
  • Large 10 inch pneumatic tires for comfort
  • Bright 2.5W headlights
  • Front drum, rear electric regenerative brake
  • Charges in just 6 hours

  • Heavy, weighs 41.2 lbs
  • Rear light is too small
  • App can lock the scooter, but it has to stay turned on
  • Unlatching the folded scooter is a bit hard
  • Smartphone app could be better

4. Xiaomi Mi PRO M365 Original Electric Scooter 28 miles

Whether you want to cruise long distances or commute to work every day, the Xiaomi Mi Pro M365 offers so much value for money that you can’t help but notice.

For those who want to travel long range, the M365 Pro gives a range of 28 miles. The first thing you would notice in this scooter is its sleek design. In fact, Xiaomi has won many prestigious awards for the design of its electric scooters.

The Xiaomi Mi 365 Pro is a good step up from its earlier version. It comes with a bigger display that shows you speed modes and ride stats in a clearer and better way. It is bigger in size and goes more miles than its predecessor.

long range electric scooter

It has a 300-watt motor under the hood that produces a 300-watt of continuous power and 600-watts of peak power. In layman’s terms, this translates to a top speed of 15.5 miles per hour. It weighs a generous 31.3 lbs, which is 10 lbs less than the Nanrobot X4 – another affordable electric scooter on this list.

There is a button below the display with multiple functions. A single press allows you to turn the headlight on or off, a double press allows you to select speed modes and holding this button allows you to turn the M365 pro on or off. It is certainly smarter than your average scooter.

The handlebar grips are comfortable and you won’t feel fatigued even after long riding sessions. The build quality is reflected in the fact that the core frame of this scooter is made from aviation grade aluminum alloy. This material has great structural strength, but is still lightweight.

It has dual brakes for effective stopping and safety on the road. The front wheel has an eABS, or anti-lock braking system, brake. The rear wheel has a mechanical disc brake, the kind that provides high stopping power. The braking distance is short at just 4 meters. It also has large 8.5 inch front and rear pneumatic tires. Pneumatic tires are good at absorbing shocks and bumps on uneven roads.

  • Affordable
  • Multiple speed modes
  • Great design
  • Great performance and control
  • Aviation grade build quality
  • Long 28 miles range
  • Bigger display than M365 earlier model

5. Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11 Electric Scooter: 80 Mile Range.

If you are willing to pay top dollar, the Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11 is the top scooter for long range you can buy. It has an enormous 35Ah battery that keeps the wheels turning for up to 80 miles of distance. The Wolf Warrior 11 has a very edgy design, a combination of downhill mountain bike, electric scooter and motocross racer. It has a top speed of 50 miles per hour. It takes 16-17 hours to charge this thing with one charger and half the time if you use two.

The Warrior 11 has many components sourced from the Dualtron Thunder including:

  • LCD Display
  • Motors
  • Controllers
  • Battery
  • Electronics

The Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11 is a beast. It is bigger and larger than most of the scooters you have seen in the market. It has dual headlights unlike most scooters in the market. They are super bright – a relief for people who want to use it to commute in the night. The horn sounds like a car horn – which is important since any other sound gets obscured in the traffic and pedestrians don’t respond to it easily.

The scooter has a rugged feel to it and when riding, the handlebar feels a bit stiff to turn around. Although it provides some level of safety by limiting the turn speed, it also makes the ride a little less comfortable than we would like.

When we said the Wolf Warrior 11 is a beast, we meant it. It has two 2700-watt motors — it will take time to get used to this power. If you accelerate in Turbo mode with both motors on, you may lose control of the scooter. So start out slow with this one.

But the company has made it possible to control this enormous power. There are two buttons on the handlebar using which you can adjust the torque and the maximum speed. You can also toggle between two speed modes, turbo and eco, using the first button. With the second button, you can select the number of motors you want to start – one or two. This flexible setting will be useful for beginners as they can drive on eco mode until they get the hang of it.

It has double hydraulic disc brakes and ABS technology, that prevents wheel locking while braking. It has regenerative brakes that allow you to slow down gradually and save on battery life.

The Warrior 11 has a good suspension that keeps the ride smooth for this off-roading machine. There is an inverted hydraulic tube suspension on the front wheel. This is better than spring loaded shock absorbers because hydraulic suspension jumps less and absorbs more. This makes riding on uneven surfaces as smooth as possible.

There is also a spring shock absorber on the rear wheel. Dual suspension allows for the smoothest ride experience on uneven roads.

The Warrior 11 weighs a staggering 101 pounds. You definitely can’t carry it in your hands for over a couple meters of distance. The scooter isn’t just heavy, it is big and bulky.

  • Has 80 mile range
  • Top speed is 50 mph
  • Has enough power to provide thrill: Two motors, 2700-watt each
  • Dual suspension: hydraulic on front and spring on rear
  • Different speed modes
  • Dual headlights are super bright
  • Rugged and sturdy
  • Car-like horn
  • Cheaper than comparable Dualtron scooters
  • LCD has a wide range of functions
  • Throttle response is fast

  • Weighs 101 lbs. Virtually impossible to carry
  • Takes 16-17 hrs to charge, although you can use two charges to cut this time in half
  • Rear shocks need cleaning as they are exposed
  • Bulky, needs quite some space for storage

6. Emove Cruiser Updated 2019, 62 miles Range – The All Rounder

The Emove Cruiser is one of the best high-end electric scooters you can buy. It is an all-rounder with balanced features on offer. Whether you want to use it for daily commute or want to go full blown trail discovery mode, the Cruiser will stand up to its name.

It is nothing like the electric scooters that rental brands provide. It is fast, comfortable, has swift handling and impressive braking. The sturdy build quality along with the suspension gives you a smooth ride.

It comes with cruise control for those who want to take it for long rides. It has turn signals, a nice horn and deck lights as well. It accelerates like a mean machine. Hit the throttle and you can reach 15 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds, 20 mph in 5.8 seconds and 25 mph in less than 11 seconds.

To make rides free of shocks and bumps, it comes with dual suspension. It has a spring suspension on the front wheel and an air suspension on the rear wheel. The suspension isn’t too soft or too hard, like it comes on many scooters, it is balanced.

It has pneumatic tires to make rides even more comfortable, but the tires have no tubes. So no bursting of inner tube, no leakage of sealant on motor, no headaches. The tires are car grade and 10-inch large to survive the worst bumps on the road.

It has hydraulic brakes in both front and rear wheels. So you have quick and enough stopping power to bring the scooter to a halt whenever needed.

The deck is large enough for anyone to stand comfortably. Moreover, the edges are rounded so that the scooter causes no damage to your walls or you don’t hurt yourself bumping against it. All edges are covered with protective plastic.

The top speed is 25 mph but there are some reports of customers tweaking the speed settings and getting speeds up to 30 mph. It gives an impressive range of 62 miles due to its large 50V 30 Ah battery that has battery management protection. The long range is also useful for daily commuters who travel short distances. They only need to charge it about once a week and not worry about it every day.

The 2019 Cruiser can accommodate a total weight of 352 lbs, which is a scooter for heavier adults and is roughly the weight of two grown ups. So if you want to take your partner on an evening ride, the Cruiser will set the scene for you.

The “dashboard” on this thing isn’t average either. First, the handlebar has rubber grips that feel comfortable and smooth. It has an LCD display with speed stats, odometer, speed mode and battery level info. What we didn’t like was the index finger-controller throttle. This isn’t intuitive or ergonomic and can take time getting used to.

One feature that we liked is that the Cruiser can be locked with a key. Many high-end scooters miss out on this simple yet crucial detail, but not this one.

For those who want to ride seated, the Emove cruiser also has an option seat which you can buy from Voromotors.

  • Long 62-mile range
  • Daily commuters can charge it once a week
  • All rounder
  • Hydraulic brakes on front and rear
  • Locks with a key
  • 352 lbs weight capacity
  • Tubeless car-grade pneumatic tires
  • Dual suspension: front spring suspension, rear air suspension
  • Cheaper than its competitor: Boosted Rev
  • Ample lights: Headlights and deck lights on the front. Central tail light and two deck lights on the rear.

  • Throttle controlled by index finger, not ergonomic
  • Heavy at 52 lbs.
  • Display a bit outdated

7. NANROBOT X4 Commuting Electric Scooter

Nanrobot X4 electric scooter is for those who don’t want to spend a couple grand on a scooter. The X4 is a promising budget scooter that offers a long range. But just because it is affordable, doesn’t mean it is low on power or performance.

In fact, the Nanrobot X4 comes with a gigantic 500-watt motor for optimal performance. This motor cranks up a top speed of 20 miles per hour. But some customer reviews indicate speeds of up to 37 miles per hour on flat roads. This speed is more than what many other budget scooters offer, even the Mi 365.

It gives a total range of 25 miles with its 10.4 Ah Lithium battery. The charging time is decent even for daily commuters at 4 to 6 hours.

Charge it immediately after reaching home from office and unplug the charger before you sleep. It would be enough battery for the next day. It has LED lights on both the front and rear with a 75-degree angle of illumination. The front wheel has a spring based suspension to absorb any bumps you may face on the ride.

It also has a waterproof LCD display that shows ride stats and brings the smarts to a mechanical machine. You can check current speed, battery life and speed mode from the handlebar display. It has three speed modes you can choose from: slow, medium and high.

The scooter comes with large 8-inch solid tire on the rear and a pneumatic tire on the front. Rear airless tire means that you won’t need to worry about flats or inflating tires regularly. However, solid tires can also be a little hard on uneven patches of road.

The build quality is so tough that the company offers a two-year warranty on the frame itself. In addition, it comes with a 1-year warranty on the motor and 180 days warranty on the battery.

  • Sleek and sporty design
  • Key ignition and locking
  • 500-watt motor
  • Affordable
  • LCD display for ride stats and settings
  • Multiple speed modes
  • High top speed
  • Front and rear LED lights

  • Front pneumatic tire
  • Has an optional seat

  • Heavy at 41 lbs, despite being advertised as super lightweight
